Son ruled out of action due to arm fracture, is set to undergo surgery

The South Korea global is set to undergo surgery and will be joining fellow forwards Harry Kane in the treatment area.

Tottenham have been dealt a fresh injury blow, with the club revealing that Heung-min Son is to be sidelined for”a few months” after fracturing his arm.

The South Korea worldwide has added to the exercise loopholes being endured by Jose Mourinho at the last third of the field.

Spurs have already seen talismanic frontman Harry Kane pushed beneath the knife.

Initial reports indicated that the England captain could return from hamstring surgery in April.

It has, however, been maintained that Kane might be forced to sit out the rest of the 2019-20 effort.

Son was helping to offer cover for a prolific presence during his enforced absence, with a match-winning brace recorded in his last outing against Aston Villa.

The 27-year-old is, nevertheless, also heading for the treatment room at a vital stage of the season.

A statement published on Spurs’ official site read: “Heung-Min Son is to undergo surgery this week after sustaining a fracture to his right arm.

“The South Korea international suffered the injury during our triumph against Aston Villa on Sunday.

“Following surgery, our medical team shall be reviewing management alternatives for Son’s rehabilitation with the participant expected to be sidelined for several weeks.”

Mourinho was unable to bolster his striking ranks during the January transfer window.

Cover for Kane was hunted by Spurs, but they had been left frustrated in their attempts to acquire bodies before the deadline passed.

Son’s versatility means he was asked to work more professionally, while the likes of Lucas Moura, Steven Bergwijn and Dele Alli have been charged with the task of filling more advanced functions.

Tottenham will have to shuffle their pack again with Son sidelined.

They have some important fixtures coming too, with their next excursion set to see them play host to RB Leipzig at the first leg of a Champions League last-16 experience.

A Premier League clash with old adversaries Chelsea is then due to be taken in on Saturday.

Fellow top-four hopefuls Wolves are the Upcoming top-flight traffic to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on March 1, with Norwich then paying a visit to north London in the fifth round of this FA Cup.

Son will probably sit out all those fixtures, with it yet to be ascertained when he is going to be prepared to step back in the fold.
